According to Van der Graaff –
“A section of wall, roughly 22 metres long and 7 metres high, survives
just west of Tower XI.
It is without doubt the most regular travertine section of the circuit,
presenting a well-finished series of blocks, 40-50 centimetres high and 60-80
centimetres wide, stacked in a header-and-stretcher system. Internal piers
periodically reinforce the wall, which leans at a slight angle to hold back the
earthen mound behind it.”
